Meet Leanna

My name is Leanna Bolyard.  I will graduate from the University of South Florida St. Petersburg on May 3, 2009 with a B.A. in Mass Communications.   

I began my time at USF as a Bio-Medical Science major.  My sophomore year I decided I did not want to persue pre-med.  I could not find a passion for science and medicine, although it came easy to me.  I finally decided to join the journalism program in my third year at USF.  It was then that I joined the campus newspaper staff.  As part of The Crow's Nest I gained practical knowledge of a working newspaper and discovered my love for the mechanics of the English language, grammar, meeting new people, and writing.

My freshman year I joined the sorority Alpha Omicron Pi. In AOPi, I became To Dragma/Magazine Chair and Freshman Chapter Relations Chair.  My role as chapter relations chair was to uphold and protect the integrity and reputation of the freshman sisters and organization. 

I am also a home team sports enthusiast.  I love watching Rays basesball and Lightning hockey.
